For most of my working life I was a ceramic artist making things like
this 20 " long bear
Working in 3D was great but years of toiling with clay, using unpleasant firing techniques, took their toll and I gave it up in 2005.
At about that time I rediscovered my ability to draw and began using watercolors and painting plants.
I prefer to paint sticks, seeds, and leaves instead of flowers except for the occasional colorful bloom with a form that I can't resist.
Lately I've become very fond of color pencils and drawing human faces and forms.
I like to put old photographs in
my compositions.
I have been a member of the Pacific Northwest Botanical Artists, a chapter of the American Society of Botanical Artists, for about 7 years and have attended many workshops by famous botanical artists from around the country. I was pleased to have my work appear in the juried exhibition when Seattle played host to the annual convention in 2006.

I have also attended workshops and classes at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle and the Frye Museum, also in Seattle.

My work has appeared in many group shows at The Gallery in Winslow, Bainbridge Island, WA.
